The developer of the world’s leading stablecoin by market cap has established four divisions to signify its expanding focus.

Tether Establishes Four Fresh Divisions

The USDT stablecoin will be overseen by “Tether Finance,” while “Tether Power” will handle the company’s bitcoin mining investments. “Tether Data” will manage strategic technology investments, including AI, and “Tether Edu” will focus on educational initiatives.

The company said in a blog post on Thursday that “Tether’s expansion beyond its well-established USDT stablecoin signifies a paradigm shift in its approach to financial empowerment.”

“By focusing on sustainable solutions adaptive to the needs of individuals, communities, cities and countries, responsible Bitcoin mining, Artificial Intelligence infrastructure and decentralized communication platforms, Tether is actively contributing to a future-proof financial and tech ecosystem,” the statement said.

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that the company’s expansion beyond its conventional stablecoin provision enables it to facilitate the development and application of technology “to empower individuals, communities, cities, and nations towards self-sustainability, independence, and freedom.”
