Vitalik Buterin’s wallet transfers ETH back to CEX exchange

As reported by CoinNerd on 10/18, Ethereum’s co-founder Vitalik Buterin addressed the commotion around significant ETH transfers to CEX exchanges, clarifying that it was indeed charitable contributions to non-profits or challenging projects.

Vitalik affirmed he hasn’t sold for personal gain since 2018. The ETH sold was to support these organizations’ operational expenses.

The transfer is significant because it is the first time that Buterin has transferred ETH to a CEX since October 18, 2021. It also comes at a time when the price of ETH has been declining.

This marks Vitalik’s first ETH transfer in over a month of inactivity. Previously, CoinNerd consistently reported on wallets linked to Vitalik allocating funds to Coinbase, Kraken, and Bitstamp since around September, totaling an estimated 4,000+ ETH.
